About Brooklyn Decal
Vinyl either stays where you put it or it does not, and almost everything that decides which is set before the sticker leaves the shop.
Waterproof and outdoor rated are not the same claim
Waterproof means the face and the ink survive getting wet, which is enough for a bottle, a bathroom or a lunchbox. Outdoor rated adds resistance to ultraviolet light, which is what stops colours going pale after a summer in direct sun. Listings meant for exterior use say UV protected explicitly. Where a product only claims waterproof, we do not upgrade it in the description.
Removable adhesive is a deliberate choice
The vehicle decals stocked here are non-magnetic removable vinyl. Magnetic signs trap grit against paint and come off at speed, which is a poor combination on a car. Removable vinyl releases without lifting paint, provided the paint is fully cured – which takes considerably longer than it takes to dry, and is the usual explanation when a decal takes colour with it.
Printing your own has one rule that matters
Inkjet and laser sticker stock are not interchangeable, and putting inkjet stock through a laser printer can damage the printer rather than just the sheet. Clear printable vinyl is generally not waterproof once printed unless it is sealed, because the ink sits on the surface. Both facts are on the listings, and both are worth reading twice.
Cut and packed in Clinton Hill
Sheets ship flat in a rigid mailer rather than rolled, because a decal that arrives with a curl in it fights you during application and traps air. Small orders ship flat-rate too; there is no minimum before the shop is willing to send something.
